Composition

I had a lot of fun trying to capture these bees on camera, and found it quite a challenge. I realize some of these images are somewhat blurry, but I liked them because of the different angles.

These first two pictures are the same shot, but the first one is cropped vertically and the second one is cropped horizontally.

It is somewhat blurry, but I liked the perspective of the underside of the wings.
I am wondering if that red thing is its tongue??

This one isn't as clear as I would like and the color looks wrong to me, but I liked the side view.

I found the pollen sac on its leg interesting in this shot.
I liked the shadow effect in this picture.

On this one, I found the pollen all over its chest pretty interesting.

Again, this one is a little blurry, but I liked the view of his wings from the back.

Lighting assignment

For our lighting assignment, I took pictures from our backyard fence line, first of a mountain looking east, then looking west between our garden and adjoining field. I think it would have been better if I had chosen a subject that I could take from looking north or south so I'm not facing into the sun for part of them, which made for a lot of glare in some of these pictures.

Willow Park Field Trip

I really enjoyed our field trip to Willow Park because it made me notice little things that I would never have noticed before. I found it interesting how seemingly ordinary things all around us can make such interesting pictures.

It took quite some doing to figure out how to adjust the aperture on my camera to get this picture to come out right. I'm starting to figure it out.

I liked how these ripples in the stream turned out.

I thought these stumps were pretty cool.
